Welcome to Walt Disney Magnet School


There is always something exciting going on at Disney. Our outreach for grants and additional resources provides opportunities such as;
  • Ballroom Dancing
  • Gourmet Dining
  • Urban Gateways
  • Children's Film Festival
  • and many more thrilling experiences for children

Other special events at Disney include:

  • Early Childhood's Halloween Carnival
  • Gifted Open House
  • Science Fair
  • Young Author's Competition
  • Academic Olympic

Additional resources and teacher grants allow our staff the opportunity to do special projects such as creating school gardens, chess club, and a "peaceful playground.

  Lottery & Enrollment for 2012-2013

Dear Parents:

If you were recently offered a position at Disney and you turned in the Confirmation Form before the deadline, you must enroll your child during Enrollment Week: April 23rd - 27th, from 9:00am until 12:00noon each day this week. You will need to bring;

  1. your child's original birth certificate,
  2. two proof of address (preferrably a current utility bill and Illinois driver's license or identification card), and
  3. medical information (including shot record).

We ask that parents bring future Kindergartners with them to enrollment. Tours are available any Tuesday at 9am. Staff will not be able to provide a tour during other times of enrollment week.

We have started calling students from our wait lists. If you receive a message regarding the waitlist, please be sure to return the call within 48 hours.

We are excited about welcoming new students to Disney next year!

    Diane Disney Miller (the daughter of Walt Disney) helps dedicate a $250,000 animation lab that her family helped fund at Walt Disney Magnet School in Chicago, Illinois
